We’ve just updated our fashion portfolio with these images from our THREE GRACES inspired shoot. Photographically we wanted to create images that encapsulated the aesthetic of painting through use of the set, backdrop and lighting. We took reference from Canova’s famous neoclassical marble sculpture ‘The Three Graces’

You can see the rest of the images by visiting the fashion section on John’s site johnwrightphoto.com

The three graces from mythology represent the three ‘charities’ daughters of Zeus who are said to represent beauty, charm and joy. Stylist Alex Reid used some of the latest collections from lingerie brands such as Wundervoll, Elle Macpherson, Wolford and La Perla using pieces that would work within the thematic setting whilst also adding a contemporary edge to the shots through her choice of colour, style and design of lingerie pieces. The lingerie was then accessorised with pieces from Erickson Beamon, Lara Bohinc and Mawi. Make-up artist Sara Raeburn experimented with colour washes and a light palette foundation on the models skin with reference to the painterly quality of the figures she had seen depicted in various versions of ‘The Three Graces’. Hair stylist Enzo Volpe created intricate plaits and waves to add texture through the hair which were then dressed with garlands and flowers to bring through the ethereal setting of the woodland.

Recent images from our fashion portfolio, shooting the current androgyny trend with the creative talents of stylist Karen Williams, Krystel Gohel on make up and Sherman Hawthorne on hair and of course our wonderful models Eva Doll from Premier and Egle from Nevs.

Androgyny is back in a big way this winter but let us not forget the original pioneers of the style. Patti Smith, ‘the Godmother of Punk’, took a more laid back approach to androgyny with oversized shirts and a relaxed stance while Grace Jones took eighties power dressing to another level, with sharp shoulders to match her amazing cheekbones. Karen incorporated a bit of both sides in the styling for this shoot, with some great pieces from Hugo Boss, Nicole Farhi Mainline and Paul Smith amongst other great labels, with some kick-ass shoes from Kurt Geiger.

More contemporary fans of the look include the Academy Award Winning actress Tilda Swinton, the extremely talented Janelle Monae and of course, Lady Gaga, but our girls Eva and Egle might give them a run for their money in the fashion stakes…in our completely un-biased opinion, of course!

(via natataillustrations) I’m really kind of flattered to find i’m being followed by someone who’s thought by many people in graphic art and all that graphic, designy, illustrating  stuff to be one of the most talented new illustrators in Europe: Natalya Posukhova. (natataillustrations) We worked together for a magazine shoot last year and her drawings…illustrations, are kind of…amazing really. I know she’s new to TUMBLR and that’s a lonely time :) If you want some jaw dropping drawings in your dashboard, go and follow her. It’ll make her smile :) ?
